CFUW Markham-Unionville organized a flag-raising event at the Stouffville Community flagpole to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The Wrapped in Courage flag was raised. We were joined by our members, members of CFUW Aurora Newmarket, Mayor Iain Lovatt, senior leadership of the Stouffville Fire and Emergency Services, and representatives from two agencies that serve women and children fleeing violence, Pamela Deveaux of Yellow Brick House and Ellen Campbell of Abuse Hurts.
