Abuse Hurts
Abuse Hurts is an organization that supports individuals escaping abuse. They work to raise awareness about the true cost of neglect and abuse and currently support dozens of organizations including children’s services, victim’s services, shelters, and other agencies that deal with tens of thousands of children, women, and men whose lives have been affected by abuse. In April 2024 we made two collections of gently used clothing: one of light winter clothes in March and a huge collection in April of spring/summer clothes. These efforts are being repeated in 2025. Yellow Brick House
Yellow Brick House is a non-profit organization that provides lifesaving services and prevention programs to meet the needs of individuals, families and communities impacted by violence. In April 2024 our volunteer drivers collected 3 carloads of new ‘wish list items’, as well as various gift cards donated by members. Further donations were also made by members online and eight members demonstrated their support by attending the Yellow Brick House Gala. Some gave practical assistance locating and thanking sponsors. In March of 2025 a further collection of new items, gift cards and cash was made and delivered. Our fundraiser on October 26, 2022 at the Bayview Golf and Country Club was a huge success. We held a Social Tea and Fashion Show featuring the fashions of Eleven Joseph and our own lovely models. In addition to having had a lot of fun with the show and delicious nibbles we were able to donate $1700 to Yellow Brick House.
